Monday,

It has been a crazy end to February. Both kids have been sick on and off for about two months. At the end of February I got a stomach virus which I gave to Jack. We ended up having to take him to the hospital to get an IV and run some test which really sucked. Eric then got the stomach virus from Jack. Owen had RSV again and still has the cough. However, over all we are all finally healthy. So Happy So Very Happy.

Owen is talking up a storm. I feel like he is learning a new word everyday. So we really have to watch what we say in front of him. He is such a Joy.

Jack is becoming more and more alert. He is so wide eyed and smiles all the time. He is finally out of his colic stage and so much happier.

Eric is finally starting to feel better. Between a head cold, stomach virus and something wrong with his ribs he is happy to finally be feeling better. Work is a little stressful but overall he seems to be happy.

I am finally getting to workout at the gym again and Owen loves the kids center at the gym. Overall it is a good match. I feel like everything is going great. We are getting ready for my sisters wedding. She is getting married on Saint Patrick's day.

This month is going to be crazy. We had a wedding last weekend, my sisters on the 17th, and then another friend of ours on the 24th. Two of the weddings are out of town and this will be the first time to travel with both boys. Wish us luck!!

Sunday,

Jack has now come down with the cold that Owen got from the doctor office. Jack has slept in his car seat the last two nights so he will not wake up choking on his drainage. Both nights he slept through the night from 10 to 6. Maybe we are on to something. Owen is starting to sound better and seems to be feeling much better. Dressed the boys in matching University of Texas outfits.

My Birthday dinner with some close friends of ours. The dinner itself was a nightmare but hanging with friends was great. We tried to have dinner at Cheesecake factory but the wait was two hours and they didn't take reservations. Why don't restaurants take reservations anymore? We are only going to places that take reservations when we take the kids out. We decided to go to Johnny Carrino's. The service was awful. We waited 45 minute for them just to take our order. An hour and a half for us to actually get food. They tried to buy us off with free cake but we didn't buy it. They gave us all free food. The food was good the service just sucked!! All the kiddos had break downs but none worse then ours. Owen was not having it.

Today has been a much better birthday. Went to Heb, I thought it would be crazy, but it was not. Owen took a morning nap which allowed for relaxing time hanging with Jack. Had a great family time mid day playing with both boys. Then both boys took an afternoon nap and I got a relaxing bath. Lounging around with Eric, during a rain storm, much needed alone time!! One of my girlfriends bought me a bottle of Skinny Sangria which I am drinking while we are watching the start of the super bowl. Owen just woke up and is in the best mood. Life really just doesn't get much better than this. I am turning 31 tomorrow and I feel like I have it all!!

Thursday,

Ok so its always something in the Barta house as I am sure it is always something in every house. We started the week with Owen dislocating his elbow. I have been taking Owen for walks around the block. I let him walk next to the stroller so he can get used to following directions and being safe. However there is one place where we cross the street and normally he will hold my hand no problem. On Monday he decided half way across the street that the would pull away and plop down in the middle of the street. When he pulled away I felt his arm give and I guess that is when it happened. I continued to pull him across the street. I was wearing Jack and had the dogs in my other hand so I only had one hand to pull him with. When we got across the street he tried to pick up a rock and he just dropped it and started crying. I realized that something was wrong plus his arm was just kind of hanging to his side. We went into the doctors office, which on a side note there was a sick kid who's mother was letting him cough all over all the kids and the toys. I took out hand sanitizer for Owen and she got hint to get her kid away from him. The doctor was able to pop his elbow back in place she called it a nursemaid. He was perfectly fine after that. Then Tuesday he started to get a little cough. Yesterday cough, runny nose and low grade fever, thanks to the mom who let her kid cough all over everyone and everything. I know that it would be hard but if Owen was sick he would be sitting on my lap until we went back to see the doctor. Just saying!!

So to say the least another crazy week in the Barta house. I am trying everything to keep Jack from getting sick. I have been using a burp cloth to wipe Owens nose and last night Jack had thrown up a little, Owen took the nasty cloth I used to wipe his nose and threw it on Jacks face. I am sure it is just a matter of time. On a positive note he was trying to be helpful. Hopefully we can have a fun weekend.

Wednesday,

Today was a crazy day. Owen has been really acting out. This morning he took all the decals off the sliding glass door, dumped his cereal and milk on the floor, dumped my milk on the floor, and pulled our lamp off the end table and broke it in tons of little pieces. He took a morning nap and an afternoon nap. This is him happy at the park.

Tuesday,

Ok this has been a crazy week. Both the boys have stomach viruses and are sick. We thought that we were going to have to take Jack to the emergency room because he was throwing up over and over. He kept everything down over night and so far today. Nights have really sucked with Jack. We have some other huge things going on in our life so again things have been crazy.

Great week with the boys. Jack is becoming so much more alert and happy. He still has gas but is dealing with the gas much better. I tried to take lots of pictures of the kids playing and being happy. Owen had one fun playdate this week with his friend Ayden. We also went to the park and Owen made a new friend also named Ayden. At the beginning of the week we had a problem with Jack being constipated and now we are ending the week with Owen having diarrhea. What is going on with these boys. The great thing is that they are still in good spirits.

Eric had a flag football game yesterday. He got nailed in the nose, twisted his ankle and sprained his wrist. Maybe he is getting a little to old to be playing full contact sports. Owen loved watching his daddy play football.

Tuesday,

I have found that it is hard to keep up with this blog but I will just do what I can. The past couple of weeks have been a bit trying. Jack didn't want to take a bottle but slowly is starting to. I am breast feeding but we do one bottle before bed just so that he will get used to it for when mommy is not available. Also the last two days Jack was not pooping. He was in so much pain. However, last night he started back on a normal poop schedule. He is having some relief.

Owen is getting four or so teeth at one time. He is happy but a bit clingy and fussy by the evenings. I don't blame him his mouth must be killing him. He is chewing on everything including himself. Over all he has been a champ about it. He is over his morning nap so no more morning relief for mommy but not to big of a deal.

He loves to look at books. Owen being a silly little boy making us laugh.
